Frequently Asked Questions

Brain Health Program (FAQ)

Is this program only for people with dementia or serious brain disease?

No. Many participants are high-functioning individuals experiencing brain fog, anxiety, burnout, or early cognitive changes. The program supports both recovery and prevention.

Can this program reverse Alzheimer’s or neurodegenerative disease?

This program is not positioned as a cure. It supports brain resilience, inflammation reduction, metabolic health, and neuroplasticity, which may help slow progression and improve quality of life depending on the individual. That said, there are published research studies demonstrating improvement in people who follow programs like this.

How quickly will I notice improvements?

Some people notice changes in sleep, clarity, or mood within a  week or two. Others improve more gradually. The 90-day structure allows us to pace changes safely and effectively. The program is designed as a 90 day program because that is a reasonable timeline to reassess and expect measurable improvements.

What if my labs or imaging are normal?

This is very common. Standard testing often misses functional brain stress. We evaluate symptoms, performance patterns, sleep, inflammation, and metabolic health together.

Is this program safe if I have a history of substance or alcohol use?

Yes. We approach care thoughtfully and prioritize nervous system stability, recovery support, and relapse prevention when relevant. The program is appropriate for people in recovery and can support sobriety.

Are prescriptions included?

No. Prescription therapies, if recommended, are billed separately through the pharmacy. All options and costs are discussed in advance.

Do you accept insurance?

Concierge Natural Medicine is a direct care practice and we do not bill insurance for program fees. Some patients submit receipts to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement depending on their plan. Coverage decisions are determined by your insurer.

Hormone Balance Program (FAQ)

Do I have to use hormones to do this program?

No. Hormone therapy may be helpful for many patients, but it is not required. Depending on your symptoms, goals, history, and risk factors, we may use botanical or non hormone support first, or recommend bioidentical hormones when appropriate. The goal is to use the safest approach that helps you feel better, and adjust based on response.

What if my labs are normal but I still feel awful?

This is extremely common. Standard reference ranges are broad and do not always reflect what is optimal. We’ll review your labs for optimal levels, and we evaluate symptoms and patterns, not a single number. We also consider sleep, stress physiology, inflammation, thyroid patterns, and metabolic factors that influence how you feel. If additional testing is appropriate, we sequence it so results are actionable.

How quickly will I feel better?

Most women notice improvements in sleep, hot flashes, and emotional steadiness within the first few weeks. Others need more time as we titrate carefully and stabilize foundational systems. The program is 90 days because hormone optimization is a process. We adjust based on how you respond rather than rushing changes.

Are prescriptions included in the program fee?

No. Prescriptions, if needed, are billed separately through the pharmacy. We discuss options and expected costs before sending prescriptions.

Is lab testing included?

Yes, we include a special hormone test in the program. Additional testing may be recommended as part of your plan and fees may apply depending on what is clinically appropriate and how your plan is structured. We review recommended labs and expected costs before ordering.

Do you accept insurance?

Concierge Natural Medicine is a direct care practice and we do not bill insurance for program fees. Some patients submit receipts to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement depending on their plan. Coverage decisions are determined by your insurer.

Longevity and Wellness Check up (FAQ)

Is this program only for people who are sick or having symptoms?

No. This program is designed primarily for people who feel mostly well but want to understand and influence their long-term health trajectory. Many patients enter this program for prevention, resilience, and clarity — not because something is “wrong.”

How is this different from an annual physical or executive health exam?

Annual exams focus on identifying disease once it meets diagnostic criteria.
This program looks for early risk patterns, changes in metabolism, inflammation, cognition, recovery, and resilience,  before they become diagnoses. However, it can also include all of the basics of an executive preventive physical.

The goal is directional correction, not reactive care.

Is this the same as “anti-aging medicine”?

No. This program does not promise to stop aging or reverse time.

It focuses on preserving function, independence, and quality of life by supporting systems that decline with age,  such as muscle, metabolism, brain health, and cardiovascular resilience.

Will this program involve a lot of testing or supplements?

Not necessarily. We recommend testing and interventions only when results will meaningfully guide decisions. Some patients benefit from advanced diagnostics; others make significant progress with targeted lifestyle and foundational support alone. We often also interpret existing lab tests with an for optimization not just whether values fall in the normal range.

More is not better,  appropriate is better.

Do I have to use hormones, peptides, or regenerative therapies?

No. These tools are optional, and often desired.. When used, they are introduced thoughtfully and only when benefits outweigh risks for your specific situation.

Many patients choose to begin with lifestyle, metabolic, and recovery optimization before adding advanced therapies.

Is this program safe?

Yes. All recommendations are made within a medical framework, guided by your history, goals, and risk factors. We avoid extreme protocols and prioritize safety, sustainability, and evidence-based care.

How quickly will I see results?

Some changes,  such as improved energy, sleep, or recovery — may be noticeable within weeks. Other benefits, like metabolic resilience and cognitive protection, accrue over time. Longevity is measured in trajectory, not quick wins.

Do you accept insurance?

Concierge Natural Medicine is a direct care practice and we do not bill insurance for program fees. All of our services are eligible for  HSA/FSA accounts.  Some patients submit receipts to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement depending on their plan. Coverage decisions are determined by your insurer.

What kind of outcomes should I realistically expect?

Patients often report:

  • Improved energy and recovery
  • Better stress tolerance and sleep
  • Greater confidence in their health plan
  • Clearer understanding of personal risk and priorities

The goal is not to feel “younger,” but to feel stronger, steadier, and more in control.

Peptide Optimization Program (FAQ)

What types of peptides might be included?

Peptides are selected based on your goals, experience level, and safety profile. Options may include peptides that support growth hormone signaling, fat metabolism, tissue repair, immune balance, cognitive support, or aesthetics. Most patients begin with peptides that are effective within 90 days and have a lower side-effect profile. Protocols evolve over time.

Do I need prior experience with peptides?

No. This program is appropriate for both beginners and those with prior peptide experience. Education and safety are central to the program.

Are peptides safe?

When prescribed appropriately and sourced from reputable compounding pharmacies, peptides are generally well tolerated. We monitor responses closely and adjust protocols as needed.

How quickly will I see results?

Some patients notice changes in sleep, recovery, or energy within weeks. Body composition and metabolic changes typically take longer. We adjust pacing based on response rather than rushing outcomes.

Do I need to continue peptides after 90 days?

Not necessarily. Many peptides are best used in cycles. After the program, we’ll discuss whether to continue, rotate, or pause based on your goals and response.

Are labs or testing included?

Testing may be recommended depending on your clinical picture and goals. Any testing and associated costs are reviewed in advance.

Do you accept insurance?

Concierge Natural Medicine is primarily a direct care practice and we do not bill insurance for program fees. Some patients submit receipts to their insurance provider for possible reimbursement depending on their plan. Coverage decisions are determined by your insurer.

Are there serious risks?

Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and a black box warning for medullary thyroid cancer in individuals with specific personal or family history. Dr. Oberg screens carefully to ensure safety.

Do I have to exercise?

Movement is strongly encouraged to protect muscle, bone, brain, and heart health. We focus on sustainable activity, not punishment.
